Flowers Roehampton Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery Statement

This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Flowers Roehampton has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not present within our business or our supply chains. As a trusted Roehampton florist serving local households and businesses, we recognise our responsibility to operate ethically and transparently.

Our Zero Tolerance Approach

Flowers Roehampton has a zero tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced or compulsory labour, and child labour. We are committed to acting with integrity in all our dealings and relationships and to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery has no place in our operations or those who supply us.

All business decisions, from sourcing flowers and materials to engaging contractors and service providers, are guided by this commitment. We expect the same high standards from our suppliers and partners and will not knowingly work with any organisation that fails to uphold these principles.

Our Supply Chains and Supplier Due Diligence

Our supply chains include growers, wholesalers, logistics providers, packaging suppliers, and other service providers connected with the delivery of floral products and related services. We recognise that some of these sectors may be higher risk for labour exploitation and we therefore apply heightened vigilance in these areas.

We conduct supplier due diligence that may include, where appropriate, pre-engagement checks, assessment of labour practices, review of publicly available information, and requests for information on compliance with modern slavery and human rights standards. We seek assurances that our suppliers comply with applicable labour laws and do not engage in any form of modern slavery or human trafficking.

Suppliers are expected to cooperate with any reasonable requests for information on their employment practices. Where we identify concerns, we will engage with the supplier to understand the issue and seek remediation. If satisfactory improvements are not made, Flowers Roehampton reserves the right to review, suspend, or terminate the relationship.

Staff Training and Awareness

We recognise that effective prevention of modern slavery requires informed and vigilant staff. Flowers Roehampton provides training and guidance appropriate to roles and responsibilities, with a focus on employees involved in purchasing, supplier management, and recruitment.

Training covers the nature and signs of modern slavery, the risks within supply chains, and the steps staff should take if they have concerns. We encourage all team members to remain alert to potential indicators of exploitation and to raise any issues promptly and in confidence.

Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing

We are committed to creating a culture where concerns about modern slavery, unethical behaviour, or illegal practices can be raised without fear of retaliation. Employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders are encouraged to report any suspicions or concerns regarding modern slavery within our business or supply chains.

Concerns can be raised through internal management channels or by following our whistleblowing procedures. All reports will be taken seriously, treated confidentially as far as practicable, and investigated promptly. Where concerns are substantiated, we will take appropriate action, which may include working with authorities or specialist organisations.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

Flowers Roehampton is committed to continuous improvement in identifying, preventing, and addressing modern slavery risks. We will review this Modern Slavery Statement annually to reflect changes in our business, our supply chains, and evolving best practice and legal requirements.

As our role as a Roehampton florist serving local households and businesses evolves, we will continue to strengthen our policies, procedures, and training to ensure we uphold our responsibilities and contribute to the wider effort to eradicate modern slavery in all its forms.

This statement has been approved by the management of Flowers Roehampton and will be reviewed and updated on an annual basis.
